The Westport Saloon brings the best roots concerts to Kansas City every day, and the jewel in the crown returns in May with the 2017 iteration of the Westport Roots Festival. There’s no better time to welcome back to Kansas City some honky tonk royalty: Moe Bandy. A mainstay on the country music charts from 1975 to the end of the 80’s, Bandy has played his part in keeping traditional country music alive for decades. Bandy is a sure hand with both sentimental love songs and rowdy outlaw tunes, with a timeless and ageless voice that’ll have you believing every word. A honky tonk lifer, Moe has been a popular Branson staple for 25 years entertaining out of his own theater. But his recordings stay grounded to his – and America’s – roots. The Westport Roots Festival is pleased to bring Moe Bandy and his classic Ameripolitan sound in 2017. Catch his act and you’ll hear sung some of the best stories at the Festival. After all, as Moe sings on his newest album “Lucky Me”: “I’ve done everything Hank Williams did but die.” Lucky us.
